In addition to providing fast duplication, the 1:15 USB HDD Copy Cruiser SA™ sanitizes external 2.5 in. USB hard drives using 1-Pass/3-Pass/7-Pass Overwrite functions, and all duplication and sanitization functions are controlled by an easy-to-read interface with back-lit LCD display.

Compatible with most popular brands of USB flash drives, external 2.5-inch USB hard drives or solid state drives, copy functions include copy system and data only, copy complete drive, format FAT and FAT 32 file systems, and compare, which allows you to verify that the target devices are exact copies of the original. Asynchronous duplication is a time-saving feature popular with IT professionals that writes the data to internal primary storage then duplicates it to target media. This allows you to remove and replace USB storage devices while other copies are running.

Sanitizing 2.5-inch USB External Hard Drives

The 1:15 USB HDD Copy Cruiser SA gives you a choice of the following overwrite functions. 1-pass wipe: Also referred to as single pass, a one-wipe algorithm writes meaningless data over every sector of the hard drive once and is primarily used for lower-risk applications. 3-pass wipe: Overwrites meaningless data over every sector of the hard drive three times and is a good choice for higher risk applications. 7-Pass wipe: Overwrite meaningless data over every sector seven times and is typically used for high security applications. Hard drives sanitized by Aleratec’s 7-Pass wipe have been verified by a leader in forensic data recovery as being “forensically unrecoverable” and meet the criteria set forth in NIST 800-88 guidelines for media sanitization.
