BF1500 supports up to 16 lanes PCIe Gen3.0/4.0 and BF1600 supports up to 32 PCIe Gen3.0/4.0 lanes. While BF1600 enables connectivity for up to 16 SSD drives without the need for an external PCIe switch. The BF1500 must be connected through a PCIe switch to SSD devices.
