Overview
Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series
The Cisco® Catalyst® 3850 Series Switch is the industry’s first fixed, stackable GE switch to converge wired and wireless in a single platform, creating an uncompromised user experience in any workspace. The converged system provides a single platform for wired and wireless, network wide visibility for faster troubleshooting, consistent security and quality of service control, maximum resiliency with fast stateful recovery, and scale with distributed wired and wireless data plane. In addition,as a switch, the Cisco Catalyst 3850 is the best stackable switch in the industry. The Cisco Catalyst 3850 provides maximum data and power and wireless resiliency. Cisco StackWise-480 Technology Cisco StackWise-480 technology is built on the highly successful industry-leading Cisco StackWise technology. The StackWise-480 with 480 Gbps of stacking bandwidth uses Cisco IOS® Stateful Switchover (SSO) for providing resiliency within the stack. The stack behaves as a single switching unit that is managed by an active switch elected from one of the member switches. The active switch creates and updates all the switching, routing, and wireless tables. In an event of the active member failure, the standby member assumes the role of the active switch, continuing to keep the stack operational. Cisco StackPower Technology The Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series supports Cisco StackPower technology, an innovative power interconnect system that allows the power supplies in a stack to be shared as a common resource among connected switches. Cisco StackPower unifies the individual power supplies installed in the switches and creates a pool of power, directing that power where it is needed. The Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series switches feature Cisco’s Enhanced Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty, which includes next business day replacement (where available) and access to technical support during local business hours, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of purchase.
