The DXG-S7100X is a unique virtual GPU for that brings high-end graphics and AMD Multiuser GPU (MxGPU) technology to Dell EMC PowerEdge M640 and M630 blade servers. The DXG-S7100X enables multiple users on one blade to access the power of a single physical GPU for virtual desktops and application environments without compromising their graphics experience. DXG-S7100X dual-slot mezzanine card with a FirePro S7100X GPU, 8GB GDDR5 and supports up to 16 users. It is an excellent fit for a wide range of workloads including:

The DXG-S7100X improves virtual workstation user experience consistency, scalability, manageability and security. It allows enterprise IT to allocate predictable graphics acceleration and GPU compute resources to a diverse range of end-users across multiple devices and locations.
The FirePro S7100X is the first hardware virtualized GPU where each virtual GPU is presented to the virtual desktop OS as if it was a physical GPU. Hardware scheduling delivers predictable GPU performance to each user and allows the use of native AMD Radeon Pro professional graphics drivers in the virtual desktop to maximize graphics and GPU compute performance and compatibility.
AMD’s Server GPU Multiuser GPU (MxGPU) technology provides graphics acceleration in a VMware or Citrix virtualized environment. MxGPU enables multiple virtual workstations to share the GPU on a single DXG-S7100X, delivering cost and scalability benefits.
Consolidating multiple graphics / compute workloads onto a single platform can increase the server IO requirements. Amulet Hotkey provide a range of secondary IO card options to boost blade IO capacity or to add native Fiber Channel or Infiniband ports. The second IO card is designed to fit under the heat sink of the dual-slot virtual GPU.

The DXG-S7100X graphics and compute capability significantly expands the range of workstation users that can leverage the benefits of workstation virtualization. These benefits include flexibility, scalability and streamlined management to reduce costs. IT can configure the GPU capability and performance to match the designer/engineer needs by selecting the user density for the card.
Blades are an ideal platform for virtual workstation with up to a 3x density advantage due to optimal balance of CPU and GPU resources. Multiple virtual GPUs in a dual CPU socket server can result in an imbalance where there is not enough CPU resources for demanding workstation applications.
GPU-accelerated computing

GPU-accelerated computing uses the DXG-S7100X OpenCL capability in tandem with the system CPU to accelerate performance for intensive computing applications such as deep learning, fluid dynamics, digital content creation, complex scientific or engineering analysis. Utilizing the GPUs compute mode, compute-intensive tasks are offloaded to the GPU, while other tasks continue to run on the CPU.
